History of stagecoaches presented by Kathy Graves, Siskiyou County Historical Society. She has just written the latest Siskiyou County Historical Society book on this subject.

Imagine looking up Castle Street toward the beautiful view of Mount Shasta, and instead of just seeing pavement and cars, you also see a vibrant flowing stream with numerous pools and riffles framed by lush riparian vegetation. Then imagine walking along that stream all the way from the elementary school through downtown to Sisson Meadow.

Also imagine walking or cycling from the City Park all the way to Lake Siskiyou, or between parks, residential areas, schools, and businesses in town, all on paved paths separate from roadways.

These projects and potential one-way traffic on Chestnut Street and Mount Shasta Boulevard with separated bikeways are all being considered by the City and Parks District, and will be presented by local landscape architect Tom Hesseldenz.

The Siskiyou Land Trust is convening a panel discussion focused on forest resilience. This event will feature experts in forest management and conservation, focusing on strategies for fire prevention and ecosystem protection.

Emphasizing community involvement and sustainable practices, the discussion aims to foster awareness and action towards healthier and more resilient forests.
