Mount Shasta Stories
We have an exciting new exhibit for our 2026 season.
This exhibit tells the stories of our area with the themes of logging, transportation, indigenous people, early settlers, business and agriculture.
The exhibit includes a short documentary film by filmmaker Autie Carlisle. The film showcases stories of our own town’s history as told by local residents.
Mount Shasta has always been more than a landmark – it’s a magnet.
For indigenous people, the abundance of food and resources were primary.
Americans of all nationalities arrived and stayed: chasing timber, agriculture, business, mountaineering, scientific discovery, and simply the lure and beauty of the mountain.
